The well-known memory and SSD maker Kingston Technology has presented the new KC310 solid-state drive, designed for business use. The drive features the largest capacity in its class and comes with full 960 GB of capacity under the hood, making it the largest business SSD in Kingston’s product list. Its mission is to serve business users in the best way possible by providing them with a large capacity and unmatched speed.
The KC310 is a speed demon on its own. The device is powered by a Phison PS3110-S10 quad-core memory controller with eight channels, which, along with support for SATA 3.0, provides up to 550 MB/sec of sequential read speed and 520 MB/sec of sequential write speed. It also reaches 96 000 IOPS of 4K random read and 88 000 IOPS of 4K random write. All this technology sits in a 2.5-inch SSD case that measures 69.9 x 100.1 x 7.0 mm and weighs 84 grams.
Apart from the hardware inside the Kingston KC310 offers several useful technologies such as SmartECC, which automatically recovers lost information, S.M.A.R.T. and TRIM and has firmware-based power loss protection, end-to-end data protection as well as MTBF of 1 million hours and a 3-year warranty with free technical support. Finally the memory cells inside can sustain 681 TB of written data.
The KC310 by Kingston is available now. No word on pricing, though.
