Marshal Inc. released a new slim external Blu Ray disc writer drive – MAL-BDP02U2. The drive is a USB 2.0-connected and powered, measures 135 (W) x 145 (D) x 20 (H) mm and weights just 304 grams.
The MAL-BDP02U2 has slot-in loading mechanism and can burns single-layer BD-R and BD-RE discs at 2x, dual-layer BD-R/RE at 1x, DVD±R at 8x, dual-layer DVD±R at 2.4x, DVD±RW at 6x, DVD-RAM at 5x, and can burn all kinds of CDs at 8x. The slim drive is expected to be available in Japan soon for the price of about 260$
