One day after the big Windows 10 event Microsoft announced its new office software package would come out by the end of 2015. The suite will be called Office 2016 and will not bring any major changes unlike Windows 10.
Office 2016 will offer the same comprehensive experience earlier versions of Office offer now and just like before Office 2016 will be best used on a PC with a keyboard and a mouse. There will be some changes, though, but Microsoft has not announced any details as of now. What we know is that Office 2016 will come with darker colors and will feature an improved personal assistant, some interface changes and better functionality. Office 2016 will also have a sensor-enabled version where you can use your fingers to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook. All in all, however, people used to Office 2013 will not have any problems adjusting to Office 2016.
The first preview version of Office 2016 will become available to Windows Insider participants in about 10 days. The final version of Office 2016 will also run on tablets and smartphones with no problems.
