The well-known maker of flash memory solutions SanDisk has presented at MWC 2015 the world’s microSD card with highest capacity. The new card is carries the rather long Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Premium Edition name and comes with 200 GB of capacity, which means it comes with 56 per cent higher capacity than the last year’s record holder, which had 128 GB under the hood.
The new card offers 90 MB/sec of write speed, which means you can write up to 1200 3.5 MB pictures in one minute. The memory card is designed for use with high-end smartphones and various tablets that run Android.
The speed and capacity have a price – unfortunately the Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Premium Edition will sell for USD 400 when it becomes commercially available in Q2 2015.
