Leading Manufacturer of DRAM modules and flash devices, Viking Modular Solutions, announced today an Enterprise Class SATA II Solid State Drive, the SATADIMM. The SSD is available to the mass market in a standard for the industry DDR3 240 pin DIMM form factor, which allows the consumers flexibility when creating a new server design, and also increases the capacity and performance of their storage.
SATADDIM can deliver very high performance and a solid state drive in the DDR3 240-pin DIMM form factor. Viking Modular Solutions a lot more performance and power savings that are desired from a solid state drive, by adding SATA to the DDR3 DIMM socket on your motherboard.
“Viking Modular is the first to deliver a ground breaking, flexible and efficient method of enabling SSD integration into standard server & storage appliances,” said Adrian Proctor, Vice President of Marketing at Viking Modular. “It can breathe new life into maxed out systems with the high performance and low power consumption of SSD technology. Furthermore, it opens up the possibility for new design, no longer constrained by standard hard drive space requirements.”
The SATADIMM features intelligent write management techniques and protection against flash failures, which can be catastrophic to your data. Available in 50GB, 100GB or 200GB, SATADIMM also features power fail data protection and best in class sequential performance at 30,000 IOPS.
SATADIMM has been also designed to take advantage of the DDR3 DIMM socket and deliver power from 1.5v supply.
