Patriot Memory introduced its newest solid state drive series called the Pyro, which is powered by SandForce’s SF-2281 processor and offers SATA III 6Gbps connection interface.
The new SSD comes in the 2.5-inch form-factor and is based on MLC NAND flash memory. The drive can reach transfer-rates of up to 550 MB/s read, 520 MB/s write with 85,000 4k random write performance, and offers TRIM command support, DuraClass and DuraWrite for optimized performance and durability, built-in ECC protection, Intelligent Block Management and Wear Leveling, and RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) technology. The drive is backed by a by three-year warranty and is availabile in capacities of 60 GB, 120 GB, and 240 GB. Prices still unknown.
