Yesterday Seagate revealed its GoFlex Desk external hard drive with 4TB capacity and today G-Technology also unveiled its first external 4TB and 8GB hard drives for consumers who need more storage space.
The new storage solutions form G-Technology are equipped with Hitachi’s 4TB 7,200 RPM drives and comes in two variants – 4TB G-DRIVE and 8TB G-DRIVE external storage device, which packs two drives in RAID 0 configuration. The drives comes in all-aluminum enclosure that acts also as a heat sink, and offers eSATA, FireWire 800 (FireWire 400 via cable) and USB 2.0 ports. They will be available in October and the company also plans to release G-DRIVE and G-RAID models with Thunderbolt in Q4 this year.
