Acer America has just announced that this week will release its spire S3 Ultrabook model on the US and Canadian market for $899.
Acer’s Aspire Ultrabook has magnesium aluminum/alloy chassis that measures just under half an inch thin (0.68 inches) and weighing a mere 2.983 pounds. It has 13.3-inch CineCrystal LED-backlit display with 1366 x 768 resolution which features open cell design, integrating the display’s covers with the glass panel. Inside it packs the power of 2nd generation Core i5 processor, backed by Intel HD Graphics 3000, a 4GB of RAM, and 20GB solid state drive and 320GB7 hard drive. Aspire S3-951 also includes all essential connectivity like 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0+ HSR, multi card reader, USB and HDMI ports, and all connectors are located in the back, keeping the side profiles clean and sleek, while the frequently used, headphone port and the card reader are located on the left and right side.
Acer’s S3 series is also equipped with a large multi-gesture touchpad and full size chiclet keyboard, plus Crystal Eye 1.3 webcam and professionally-tuned Dolby Home Theater v4 surround sound. The Ultrabook comes with Acer’s Green Instant On Technology that resuming from Sleep mode in as little as 2 seconds and Instant Connect Technology which can reconnect the Ultrabook to the Internet from Sleep mode in just 2.5 seconds. The company promises battery life of up to 6ix hours.
The Acer Aspire S3-951 Ultrabook will be available this week in the U.S. and Canada with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $899.
