ASUS plans to release a new budget-oriented notebook under the EeeBook X205 brand name next month. The device is said to cost just USD 199, so if you are looking for a cheap notebook then this might be it.
The EeeBook X205 will have an 11.6-inch display that works at 1366 x 768 pixels, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and a micro HDMI port. The device will be just 17 mm thick and will be based on the Intel Bay Trail platform, offering an Atom Z3735 Silvermont processor with four cores at 1.33 GHz (up to 1.83 GHz) and Intel HD Graphics at 311/646 MHz.
The EeeBook X205 will also have two USB 2.0 ports, 802.11n Wi-Fi, built-in speakers and a battery that will allow the device to work for up to 12 hours. The EeeBook X205 will run Windows 8.1 when it comes out.
