The holiday season is just around the corner and as you know it combines time for presents with time for gaming in a unique way. HP knows this as well and this is why the acclaimed company has prepared a new gaming notebook – meet the HP Omen.
Do we need to tell you then that the HP Omen comes with premium hardware? We doubt it but we will touch on the specs anyway – after all you should know what you will be spending money on. The Omen packs an Intel Core i7 Haswell processor with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M graphics card and offers 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. As to the display, expect to get a 15.6-inch monitor that works at 1920 x 1080 pixels while including sensor technology.
The HP Omen continues the “Wow” with its chassis – made of a solid piece of aluminum, the chassis is all black and comes with tapered edges with a speaker grille along each side. This does not leave much space for ports and connectors so they are placed in the back. The notebook also comes with a red backlit keyboard with six programmable buttons and function keys along the right edge. The Omen is approximately 20 mm thick and weighs about 2.1 kilograms (4.68 pounds).
You can now order the new gaming notebook by HP on the Internet at Microsoft Store, BestBuy.com or other online retailers. The base configuration sells for USD 1499 but you can upgrade it if you want. A 256 GB SSD will cost you USD 100 more and the combination of a 256 GB SSD and a 4 GB version of the GeForce GTX 860M will cost you USD 200 more than the base price. The laptop will be shipping in a few weeks time.
