The newest addition to MSI’s G Series of gaming laptops is called GX680 which is armed with Intel’s second generation Core i7 quad core processor, nVidia GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics card and offering smart wrap around sound experience courtesy of Dynaudio, THX TruStudio Pro.
The GX680’s body is sheathed in MSI’s glossy color film print that protect from scratching and wear, feature rhombic pattern below the keyboard and chrome plating on the touchpad, and has aglowing white MSI logo in the center of the cover. It also feature “one-of-a-kind LED light show” that makes the lights embedded in both sides of the notebook and in front of the keyboard to pulsate automatically to sounds emitted by the laptop. The GX680 can be configured with 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) or HD (1366×768) LED backlight displays, up to 16GB of DDR3 memory and up to 1,5 GB RAID 0 accelerated dual architecture. The computing power comes from Intel Core i7 2630QM Processor backed by Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, while the visual power is offerd by the DirectX 11-supporting nVidia GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics card with 1GB DDR5.
The gaming machine has a chiclet keyboard, 2.1ch speakers backed by THX TruStudio Pro sound, HD720p webcam and all connectivity options which you need at present days – Gigabit Lan, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, a 5-in-1 card reader, HDMI and USB3.0 ports. The laptop also includes i-Charger, Cinema Pro, ECO Engine power saving technology, Turbo Drive Engine (TDE) and Cooler Boost technology. It has dimensions of 395 x 267 x 55mm andweighs 3.5Kg with its 9-cell battery.
