The Japanese company Toshiba has updated its Z series notebooks with new processors and now the notebooks in the line come with Intel’s 14 nm Skylake chips. The notebooks that have been updated include the Portege Z30 and Tecra Z40 ultrabooks with 13.3-inch and 14-inch displays, the Portege Z20t Detachable and the Tecra Z50 with a 15.6-inch display. In addition to this the first three models have gotten USB Type-C ports, while the last model now comes in an aluminum chassis.
The Portege Z30 and Tecra Z40 models can be purchased with HD or Full HD displays with the latter model featuring a sensor display too, while the Portege Z20t Detachable features a removable keyboard that allows the computer to be used as a notebook or tablet. In the case of the sensor display, however, the Z20t Detachable comes with a rather small 12.5-inch display.
The new Portege Z30 notebook can be purchased for USD 1280 and up, while the Portege Z20t Detachable, Tecra Z40 and Tecra Z50 start at USD 1000, USD 1230 and USD 1600. The new notebooks are now on the market.
