Acer has just introduced a new member to its Aspire all-in-one PC line – the Aspire 5600U. The novelty sports a very sleek chassis – which is just 35 mm thick, although the machine features a big 23-inch screen that works at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and offers 5 ms of response time, 250 cd/m2 of brightness and 10-point multitouch.
Continuing down the line the 5600U comes with fast Intel Ivy Bridge processors with Acer offering a choice between Core i3 and Core i5. The new AIO PC also sports NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics and support for up to 8 GB of DDR3-1333 memory. As for storage you can install a hard drive with up to 1 TB of capacity with an optional 20 GB SSD to speed up the boot process. There’s also USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 support, Ethernet, HDMI, audio jacks and a card reader. The 5600U can also house a Blu-Ray drive should the customer want that.
The company has also included TV tuners in the device, with options for dual DVB-T, hybrid DVB-T, or hybrid ATSC depending on your region. A webcam can be found at the top of the monitor capable of 1080p video, and the whole monitor can be mounted on a wall thanks to VESA compatibility.
Unfortunately as it happens in many cases Acer did not mention a price or when the 5600U will be available on the market.
