AMD’s Trinity APUs to debut on October 1st

The folks at the Japanese web site Hermitage Akihabara have solved another mystery – according to them the long-awaited Trinity APUs by AMD will debut on October 1st this year.

As proof they share some more interesting information about the APUs as well as pics of the first samples. Apparently AMD will release five models of the new APUs with three of them featuring the “K” letter, which might mean they will come with unlocked multipliers.

The desktop Trinity APUs will consist of the following models with the following specs:

  • A6-5400 -> dual core, 3.6/3.8 GHz clock speed, TDP 65 watts, Radeon HD 7540D, product number AD540KOKA23HJ;
  • A8-5500 -> quad core, 3.2/3.7 GHz clock speed, TDP 65 watts, Radeon HD 7560D, product number AD5500OKA44HJ;
  • A8-5600 -> quad core, 3.6/3.9 GHz clock speed, TDP 100 watts, Radeon HD 7560D, product number AD560KWOA44HJ;
  • A10-5700 -> quad core, 3.4/4.0 GHz clock speed, TDP 65 watts, Radeon HD 7660D, product number AD5700OKA44HJ;
  • A10-5800 -> quad core, 3.8/4.2 GHz clock speed, TDP 100 watts, Radeon HD 7660D, product number AD580KWOA44HJ.

The upcoming Trinity APUs will come in FM2 socket form factor, which will require a new motherboard should you wish to upgrade to Trinity. Pricing of the new CPUs is still unknown.
