ASRock has announced a new gaming motherboard for the latest 6th generation Intel Core processors, codenamed Skylake. The board comes with the rather unusual and very long Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 name, which left us wondering why ASRock named this motherboard like this. The reason seems to be simple – ASRock believes this is the best LGA 1151 motherboard available and wants to show this to you.
The new board is obviously based on Intel’s high-end Z170 chipset and comes with 12 power phases, support for the latest DDR4 memory and four PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots that allow gamers to create uber-gaming machines with up to four video cards. To do this the Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 comes with support for 3-way CrossFireX and Quad SLI.
The new Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 makes use of high quality components only and offers four DDR4 memory slots for up to 64 GB of DDR4 SDRAM. The board holds 10 SATA 3.0 ports, three SATA Express connectors, extra Ultra M.2 slots that allow the creation of superfast SSD RAID arrays and more. In the back the board also offers eight USB 3.0 ports, a customizable Fatal1ty mouse port, two USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports as well as DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors.
No word on pricing as of now but given what the Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 offers, the board cannot be cheap.
