Giada is a company that is known for making various small-sized personal computers that are suited for different tasks. Back in February 2014 the company launched a new Haswell-based mini PC that was called the F300. Now the company has a more interesting offer – a mini PC that has been specifically designed for gamers.
The new company product carries the more difficult brand name of D2308U and comes with more than decent hardware. It packs an Intel Core i7-4500U Haswell processor at 1.8 GHz (3.0 GHz in Turbo mode), 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory in dual-channeled mode and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Maxwell graphics card. A 1 TB SATA2 2.5-inch hard drive at 5400 rpm provides storage but there’s also a place for an optional mSATA SSD SATA3 drive.
Despite its small size the Giada D2308U offers everything you may need while gaming and this is why the device comes with one DVI-I port and two HDMI 1.4b ports for a triple display setup. A Realtek chip provides audio and there are headphone and microphone jacks as well as a SPDIF combo jack on the back. In addition the D2308U has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, one USB 3.0 port up front and two USB 3.0 ports on the back, two more USB 2.0 ports on the back and a 4-in-1 card reader. An IR module provides connectivity too and a smart fan keeps the internals under control.
The size of the device is also something to be mentioned – it measures 9.05 x 2.14 x 6.83 inches and will fit almost anywhere. We are not sure you can upgrade it much but at least some of the components must be interchangeable. The Giada D2308U now sells for USD 1099 and can be freely purchased in the United States.
