The famous GPU maker NVIDIA has added a new graphics solution to its 7th generation family of GPUs. While most people nowadays eagerly await the arrival of high-end Maxwell solutions, NVIDIA thinks otherwise and the GeForce GT 720 is an entry-level solution that will hardly interest anyone.
The newcomer is based on a 28 nm GK208 GPU and features 192 CUDA cores, 1 GB of DDR3 memory and a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU runs at 797 MHz, while the memory operates at 1600 MHz. Since the new video card does not require a lot of power, most cards based on this GPU will be half-height single-slot solutions with passive cooling. There are models by MSI, Manli, Palit, Gainward, Zotac and other manufacturers on the market already.
The GeForce GT 720 will cost around USD 50.
