Thermaltake has unveiled two new PSUs that are grouped into the so-called Toughpower SFX Gold PSU line. Judging by the name, the power supply units are designed for small form factor computers and feature the excellent 80 Plus Gold power efficiency.
Despite the small nature of the PSUs, they allow their users to build powerful computers due to the output that they offer – 450W and 600W. The new PSUs employ flat cables in order to ease air flow in the computer case as well as a single 80 mm cooling fan that will keep the PSU internal temperature low. The fan does not spin when the temperature of the PSU is under a certain threshold and when it goes up the noise level of the cooling fan does not go beyond 26.5 dB.
The two 450W and 600W Thermaltake Toughpower SFX Gold PSUs are equipped with a single +12V rail with power output of 37A and 50A, respectively. There are all kinds of protections too – against over temperature, over current, over loading, short circuit and more. The PSUs measure 125 x 63.5 x 100 mm and to use them in ATX cases you must employ a special ATX bracket that comes with them. The warranty period is 7 years.
No word on pricing as of now.
