The famous maker of hard drives Western Digital has added a new 6 TB hard drive model to its Purple line of hard drives designed for video surveillance. The additional capacity will ease video recording and will allow users to keep more video content for the moment when it is needed. In addition video surveillance is a highly data-rich application within the “Internet of Things (IoT)” ecosystem and it needs hard drives that can keep tons of information.

Just like all other WD Purple drives, the new 6 TB model offers exclusive WD technologies, including AllFrame for reduced video frame loss, improved playback and additionally supported drive bays and IntelliSeek Technology for optimum seek speeds during system workloads for lower power consumption and less noise and vibration.
The WD Purple line offers capacities between 1 TB and now 6 TB and comes with a three-year limited warranty. The new 6 TB model is available now for USD 329.99.
