The Taiwanese ASUS has presented its latest product – a hybrid device that is known as Padfone S. The newest company product is a combination between a tablet and a smartphone with the latter device being attached to the tablet. Thus you get all benefits that these devices offer just inside a single device and all at the same time at that.
The Padfone S smartphone measures 143.93 x 72.46 x 9.98 mm and weighs just 150 grams. The device comes with a powerful Snapdragon 800 processor with four processing cores that run at 2.3 GHz. The smartphone also packs a large 5-inch Super IPS display that works at Full HD resolution and comes with Gorilla Glass protection; there also are 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, a rear 13 MP camera, a 1.2 MP front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, a GPS receiver, support for two SIM cards and Android 4.3.
The tablet part comes with a 9-inch sensor Super IPS display at 1920 x 1200 pixels, protected by Gorilla Glass and a built-in 4990 mAh battery. This part measures 250.4 x 172.25 x 11.63 mm for total weight of 514 grams.
The ASUS Padfone S will be available at the end of July 2014 for USD 660.
