Archos is getting ready to announce a new rugged smartphone. The device is known as 50 Saphir and will appear at IFA 2016 next month. Sales are expected to commence in October 2016.
The 50 Saphir is a budget-model, despite the rugged IP67-certified chassis that it will come with. The device has a MediaTek MT6737 processor with four Cortex-A53 cores that run at 1.5 GHz. In addition you get 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, a 5-inch sensor display that works at 1280 x 720 pixels and that features Gorilla Glass 4 protection, a microSD memory card slot, LTE, Wi-Fi, dual-SIM card slots, a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front one. There’s also a 5000 mAh battery with quick charging.
The expected price of the Archos 50 Saphir is EUR 220.
