The French company Archos, which is known for making interesting and advanced smartphones with low prices, has announced the Diamond S smartphone. The new company device measures 146 x 70.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs 118 grams.
The new smartphone is based on the MediaTek MT6753 octo-core processor (ARM Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5 GHz) and has PowerVR G6200 graphics as well as a 5-inch sensor IPS display at 720p resolution (1280 x 720 pixels, 294 ppi). The smartphone sports 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 32 GB), one rear 16 MP camera with autofocus and a LED flash and another 8 MP front camera for selfies and video chat. There’s also 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, a GPS receiver, an FM radio, support for LTE, various sensors, a microUSB port, 3.5 mm audio jacks, support for two SIM cards and a 2300 mAh battery. The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Archos Diamond S will be in stores in November. The handset will sell for around USD 250.
