The struggling Canadian maker of smartphones BlackBerry has debuted a new budget-oriented smartphone known as Z3 Jakarta Edition. The new company product is the first smartphone that has been created along with Foxconn and manufactured in Foxconn plants. The Z3 Jakarta Edition will be sold in Indonesia first but it will later appear in India and other developing countries too.
The BlackBerry Z3 measures 140 x 72.8 x 9.26 mm and comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with two cores at 1.2 GHz and integrated Adreno 305 graphics. The device also has 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a 5-inch sensor display at qHD resolution (540 x 960) and two cameras – one rear at 5 MP and one front at 1.1 MP. The Z3 runs BlackBerry 10 OS.
The new smartphone will sell for USD 190 for the model with no LTE and without a contract. The Z3 will be on the market on May 15.
