LG has been working on a new smartphone – known as the Optimus Elite – and pictures of it, courtesy of Pocketnow.com – have finally made it to the Internet. The new smartphone is expected to hit markets in May this year.
The Now Network (Sprint) and Virgin Mobile will distribute the handset in the United States. Specs-wise, the new offering can boast NFC support, a 3.5-inch HVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, an 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot. On the back the user will find a 5 MP camera with auto focus, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an A-GPS system. The LG Optimus Elite works under Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
In the USA the LG Optimus Elite will cost no more than 100 USD with a contract from Virgin.
