After announcing the high-end Helio X10 and Helio X20 processors for high-end devices, MediaTek has apparently turned its attention towards the mid-range and budget market segments. The company plans to release at least three new SoCs designed for use with budget-oriented devices.
The new chips are called MT6739, MT6750 and MT6750T and will enter production right after the Chinese New Year. Despite being cheap SoCs, the new chips will have support for LTE and will hit the market in summer 2016, powering phones priced USD 50 and up. Here’s a quick fact sheet on the new chips:
Unfortunately we do not know how much the new MediaTek processors will cost.
