Sources within Samsung have announced that the Korean company would debut the Galaxy S6 smartphone during MWC 2015 and more specifically on March 2, 2015, which happens to be the first day of the exhibition. In addition the company has a few prototypes of the device ready but it will decide later which one it will launch.
Another interesting piece of news is that Samsung has decided to drop the Snapdragon 810 processor altogether from the Galaxy S6 smartphone due to heat-related issues. This means the Galaxy S6 will use a Samsung chip and most likely the in-house Exynos. A while ago it was expected that Samsung would launch two versions of the Galaxy S6 – the first one would come with the Snapdragon 810 as a limited edition smartphone, while the other version would come with an Exynos chip. Shipments of the Snapdragon version would only increase when Qualcomm solved the heat-related issues Snapdragon 810 has but as you can see this will likely never happen.
The Galaxy S6 will also be a smartphone that does not have water resistance. This is a strange decision but a bit later Samsung will release a water-proof version of the S6 called Galaxy S6 Active. The new version will likely be more expensive than the “regular” one too.
