Samsung has officially presented the Galaxy Mega 2 smartphone, a device that can easily enter the phablet category thanks to its large 6-inch display.
The Galaxy Mega 2 will supersede the Mega 6.3 and 5.8 models sitting right between them with its 6-inch display that works at 1280 x 720 pixels. Despite the large display size the new Samsung device targets the mid-range market segment. It comes with a quad-core Exynos 4415 processor at 1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory that can be expanded via the integrated microSD card slot. There are two cameras too – the rear one is 8 MP, while the front one is 2.1 MP and two slots for SIM cards, making the Galaxy Mega 2 a dual-SIM device.
The new Samsung product will sell for around USD 400. The smartphone is now available in Asia and will soon be on the market around the world.
