Samsung has officially presented the new Galaxy A8 smartphone that has been in the news for some time. The device is Samsung’s thinnest smartphone and features a metallic chassis that measures 158 x 77 x 5.9 mm for total weight of 151 grams.
The new smartphone is powered by the 64-bit octo-core Snapdragon 615 processor where half of the cores run at 1.7 GHz, while the rest operate at 1 GHz. The Galaxy A8 has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display that works at Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and includes 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot for expansion and one rear 16 MP camera with an ISOCELL sensor, a f/1.9 aperture, LED flash, Full HD video recording and more. The smartphone also has a 5 MP front camera with Full HD video recording, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, a GPS receiver, a fingerprint scanner and a 3050 mAh battery.
The Galaxy A8 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and comes in three different colors – black, gold and white. No word on pricing as of now.
