Sony works on new smartphone – Xperia LT25i Tsubasa

Sony’s Hayabusa smartphone isn’t a mystery anymore but to compensate for this fact Sony now has a new device that comes with a codename – Tsubasa. Apparently the device is also known as Xperia LT25i and will arrive later this year to replace the current Xperia S model.

Despite the secrecy the Xperia LT25i Tsubasa is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual-core chip at 1.5 GHz and with Adreno 225 GPU. There will also be a display working at 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. The device will run Android 4.0 too.

Also, according to unofficial information the Tsubasa will be released in several versions. The international version will be known as LT25i and will support LTE but there will also be another international version known as LT25h, which will support HSPA+. The LT25c version will be sold in China and will work with the China Telecom carrier while the final SO-01E and SOL21 versions will serve the Japanese NTT DoCoMo and KDDI carriers, accordingly.

That’s pretty much everything that is known about the Tsubasa smartphone. Supposedly the device will get announced at the upcoming IFA 2012 trade show in Germany later this year but of course this remains to be seen.
